As a focal point for customers and an essential storage, serving and work station for staff, the humble bar top should not be overlooked. A bespoke piece that meets exacting fit and function requirements, without compromising on style, is a rewarding and worthwhile investment.

At Volund, made-to-measure pub bars are our bread and butter. For three decades, we’ve specialised in sheet metal fabrication, working with a range of quality metals to create custom commercial bar tops that meet requirements and exceed expectations.

Working with stainless steel, pewter, copper, brass and zinc, we apply our expertise, exquisite craftsmanship and close attention to detail to create custom-built bar tops. Our portfolio of custom commercial bars spans a range of venues, from popular pub chains to exclusive independent bars.

Volund’s Bespoke Bar Tops & Countertops

The Volund team can create custom hospitality bar counter solutions and apply different fabrication techniques and finishes to complement a range of styles and design schemes. We can work with:  

• Stainless steel – Long-lasting and easy to clean, stainless steel is ideal for a range of commercial bar furniture. The resilient metal can withstand exposure to moisture and alcohol and can be polished to maintain its bright, shiny surface. Alternatively, you could opt for a brushed or satin finish for a more textured, subtle look.
• Pewter – Sleek, stylish and visually striking, pewter has an elegant silvery-grey colour. It’s malleability means it’s perfect for intricate detailing, while being durable and corrosion-resistant. Pewter can be treated to maintain its bright and shiny exterior, left to develop a patina, or given a more muted brushed or matte finish.

• Copper – A warm and chromatic metal, perfect for rustic venues or eye catching statement pieces. This versatile metal is ideal for striking pub bar counter accessories too, like wine racks and vanity units. Copper can be treated to preserve its bright and brilliant shine, or left to patina and develop interesting patterns in reds, greens and browns for an entirely unique piece. 

• Brass – Brass offers timeless charm while being a durable and low-maintenance metal. Its antimicrobial properties and corrosion resistance means it stands the test of time in high-traffic settings, making it perfect for busy bars. It also offers a range of finishes, from aged and antique, to brushed or burnished. 
• Zinc – A stylish and cool-toned metal that boasts antimicrobial properties, corrosion-resistance and high malleability for versatile design. Zinc can be polished to a high shine or left with an evolving finish, allowing it to develop its own unique silvery-blue patina.
